Audition to Serve

‘Yes, I’ll do it!’, said the actor, I’m good at showing off
I can be just anyone, from a doctor to a boffin
I can fake a president, a soldier or a toff
And when it comes to being ill, I’m really good at coffin
So please accept me for this job, I’ll serve you as you wish
I’ll leave my friends and change my sex, its all the same to me
I don’t mind you asking, if I’ll share the devil’s dish
Fame and fortunes all I ask, just increase my fee
I have no rules or morals, to hinder my activities
I’ll push your guns and vaccines, or pretend to be a victim
No, I'll never let you down, whilst faking all gentilities
And if God asks me to confess, I’ll lie until I’ve tricked him
You don’t have to tell me, your plans for taking over
As long as I am profiting, I’ll never disagree
Yes, I will read the news for you, being drunk or sober
I have no qualms or ethics, and lie quite wistfully
I am an actor through and through, a servant of the money
My ego too likes things I do, indulging in pretense
Unlimited by honesty, I’m serious or I’m funny
Though people may not be aware, it’s all at their expense
